Benguela

Accessed by air, the luxury thatched Benguela Lodge offers unsurpassed exclusivity in a tranquil and remote setting. Merged into a natural milkwood forest bordering Benguerra Bay and encircled by silver beaches, coral reefs and turquoise seas, the lodge is flanked by secluded chalets built on stilts which cater for twenty-six guests. Fresh seafood and exotic Portuguese dishes are served with personal attention. A mosaic of forests, savannahs and wetland ecosystems sustains a diverse population of fauna and flora in this idyllic island getaway. Enjoy hours of snorkeling, scuba diving or a sunset sail on a dhow. Anglers can experience the thrill of fighting marlin or famous game fish. Alternatively, one can take a picnic and explore the birdlife along the tideline and the freshwater lakes or simply comb deserted beaches in solitude and serenity.
