| Kenya Highlands and the beautiful Borana Ranch is set on 35,000 rolling acres. The lodge has a "country house" atmosphere and crowns a hill over a dam where game gather at dawn. Your luxury cottage has its own fireplace which is lit for you each evening as the air cools down. Meals are served in the stair-top dining room by an enormous fireplace. Game viewing on the ranch and beyond is excellent! Here you will find all of the game found in the Samburu ecosystem. These northern "specialties" include gerenuk, besia oryx, grevey zebra, reticulated giraffe, gunther's dik dik and Somali ostrich. Near the ranch is the "Sergoi Rhino Sanctuary with a population of almost forty black and white rhino. Day and night game viewing is by 4WD vehicles. | The snowcapped peaks of Mount Kenya dominate the views to the south, where the southern boundary rises to an altitude of some 6,500 feet above sea-level. The lodge at Lerai Camp overlooks a floodlit waterhole where black and white rhino, elephant, and numerous, other wildlife come to drink. The permanent tented accommodations are discrete and comfortable, placed on raised platforms and stone walls of local lava rock.
